Tanzania
Tanzania is now one of the top travel destinations of the E.African region. It has some of the largest wildlife herds on the African continent with a very good network of national parks and game reserves besides a magnificent coastline with the exotic Stone Town of Zanzibar Island just offshore.
With the country's striking backdrop topography there is a lot of diversity - snowy Mount Kilimanjaro, barren volcanic ridges in the starkly beautiful Crater Highlands and cool slopes in the Usambara Mountains are some of the attractions.
In flora and fauna, Miombo woodlands, characterised by broadleaf deciduous trees covers a third of the mainland. The upland areas are covered with the tropical rain forest while much of the central plateau is covered with Savannah bushland and thickets. Grasslands cover he Serengeti plains while the coastline is broken by extensive mangrove growth.
Watch the unforgettable sunrise over the Serengeti. Enjoy a generally relaxed and tolerant atmosphere by Tanzanians themselves, who invariably meet visitors with an appealing combination of friendliness, reserve and dignity.

Kenya
Magical Kenya has the incredible natural environment and cultural heritage that is almost unmatched in the whole of Africa. Kenya's fauna has a dazzling array of animals. Home of the famous BIG FIVE, the lion, the elephant, the leopard, the buffalo and the rhino, and with its intrigues of rugged and jagged mountain peaks, Kenya is a fantastic place for a safari. So, those seeking more energetic pursuits will find no shortage of challenges.
Another drawcard for Kenya is the Indian Ocean coast, a historic region coloured by Arabic influences. This offers immense stretches of white sand beaches with Mombasa being the hub of the resort scene besides the mangrove islands and the Swahili villages. Those seeking African fantasy are also unlikely to go unfulfilled.
Kenya straddles the Equator and is dominated by the Great Rift Valley. Within the volcanic craters and on the floor of the Rift Valley are several soda lakes. These form part of the great attractions of the land.
Kenya's flora is also notably diverse because of the diversity in physiographical regions.
Uganda
This is the country that Winston Churchill once referred to as "The Pearl of Africa". With its fantastic natural scenery and half of the world's remaining mountain gorilla population, it is one of the most beautiful countries in Africa. Kampala itself, the capital city, is a bustling town that apparently seems to be driving one of the fastest-growing economies of the continent.
The natural attractions are among the best in the region supporting the Ruwenzoris, the highest mountain range in Africa; the Murchison Falls, one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world, and the Kibale Forest National Park which supports the highest primate density in the world. Uganda is also home to more than a1,000 bird species including the popular Shoebill Stork. This makes it one of the best bird watching destinations in the Africa (if not the world)
Uganda enjoys a tropical climate with an average temperature of 26 degrees celcius.

TRACKING THE GORRILLAS
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is located in South-Western Uganda on the edge of the western Rift Valley covering 331 sq.kms. It is one of the largest natural forests in East Africa, supporting a large number of plants and animals not found elsewhere. About half the world's population of 600 mountain gorillas resides in Bwindi.
The vegetation, as the park's name implies, is composed of tropical rainforest with dense undergrowth. This rugged terrain makes hiking in search of gorilla strenuous work. Visitors who trek should be prepared for up to 8 hours of hiking. Good physical condition is required. A maximum of only 6 permits per day are available for advance booking, so confirmation 4-12 months in advance is required to avoid disappointment.
Along with the gorillas, there are nine other species of primates including chimpanzee, blue monkey, red tail monkey, L'hoest's monkey, black and white Columbus, potto, Demidoff's and needle-clawed galago. Three hundred forty-seven species of birds have been recorded in Bwindi; seven species are listed as endangered. Species of particular interest include the Kivu ground thrush, white-bellied robin chat, red-throated alethe, collared apallis, short-tailed warbler, yellow-eyed black flycatcher, Rwenzori batis, blue-headed sunbird, strange weaver and the Shelley's crimsonwing. Over 200 species of butterflies have also been recorded here.
